Hello everyone,

My name is Sabrina and I wanted to tell you a little something about my struggle with weight loss that may help motivate you. I’m 31 years old and for the first time in my life, I feel somewhat free. I’ve spent the majority of my life as a “fat person.” I was always depressed and lazy which led me to do nothing but eat. My clothes kept getting tighter, so I would just keep buying bigger clothes. I failed at one fad diet after another and got to a point where I resigned myself to being plus-sized.

After losing my job and feeling myself going into an over-eating frenzy again, I convinced myself to use that time to exercise. The walk to the car to get to the gym or to the park for a jog was so miserable, but once I made it there and completed my work out I felt amazing; that’s the feeling I remember every time I’m about to make an excuse not to work out. It helped me with my stress and depression and made me feel happier. Then I had to make changes with my eating habits. That was probably the toughest, especially since I was used to eating anything and everything. I told myself “one step at a time,” and eventually started letting go of fast foods and doing more grocery shopping. Cooking for yourself is the best thing you can do AND it saves you money. It truly takes time to make the change, but a little effort can take you a long way. The end results and feeling you get are rewarding, but inexplicable.

I eventually replaced one meal a day with Shakeology, along with eating better and exercising and that’s when the weight began to fall off. Shakeology increases energy levels and improves your digestive system. Within the first couple weeks, my cravings disappeared. I went from 254 lbs to 195 lbs in a year and a half. I can’t believe I got myself to this point with only 25-30 lbs left to reach my ultimate goal! I always tell myself and others “we are worth it.” Being healthy allows you to be there actively for yourself and for your family, which in turn makes you happy; who doesn’t want to be happy? Shopping is more enjoyable and even posing for pictures isn’t so bad anymore (LOL). I am stronger than I ever imagined and I have all-day energy. I believe I can do whatever I set my mind to. Challenge yourself to make the best decision in your life; you’re worth it!

Tips:

Add iron:
“Don’t be all cardio all the time — lift weights! Replacing fat with muscle means you can burn more calories without even trying.”

Be prepared:
“Set everything out the night before: Shakeology, clothes, weights, water bottle. Then nothing can get in the way of your workout.”
