So I was thinking about putting a “brand new”, “new”, “just dropped” in the title of this post. I didn’t, because it seems like brand new only lasts for a few fleeting hours in this age of the internet. Interestingly enough, it’s been spectacular to watch and be a part of this ever changing music…industry…if you would. As the game evolves, it rare to see artists remain consistent in retaining their fan base. It seems like every release from Shady over his career has been purposeful. There never seems to be that point where he’s overwhelming you, unless of course… he’s got a major release pending. With the way the race has sped up… releases can now be de-limited down to the cover art alone. Crazy when you really think about it.

Now, moving onto the music. This record upon first listen sports a nice hit record feel. Eminem has bolstered this portion of his career, by seemingly, scientifically crafting, hit records, that appeal to the masses….most of which are paired with another mainstream pop star. In this case, Sia takes the lead in this Guts Over Fear record, and quite nicely I might add. I’m not saying I’m not inclined to pay attention to what Em has to say over his meticulously crafted verses… but I far prefer the sonics attributed with Sia’s voice.

Overall this record is a conventional pop song. It’s nice, and will take radio by storm. Financially, it’s a sound move…get it…sound… Stop. Creatively, I always want more, but if this one is doing and saying it for you, then let us know why. Post your comments below, and be sure to share this video, regardless of if you loved or hated it. Apparently that’s been in season for a while.
