Tampa Bay, FL – Ayo! You remember Dope of the Week right? At the beginning of the year we ran the DOTW campaign to help give back to the dope artists who help bring love to the Nation. August is upon us, and it’s time for the campaign to make a comeback for the season. But this time, we’re gonna switch gears on you and run Dope of the Month! Why? Why not?! This gives artists more time to get their views and shares up by the time we start to narrow down the records that were most well-received by our readers. Plus, that means more of a budget to promote those artists! Sounds good to me. So if we ever post one of your records or art pieces, all you need to do is make sure your fans know you were featured. With that said, much thanks to the artists who already share their CLP features with their audiences. Now that that’s done, let’s jump right into the posts that kept our servers working overtime in July 2015. First we have the Jeanna Ross-directed video for “Black Burban” by emcee and entrepreneur Infinite Skillz. This was one of my preferred songs from his recently released LTTP. Next up on the list is a peaceful protest song by Chief Mackahoe himself, Charli Funk The Chancellor of Cool. With all the distractions going on, it’s good to know that people are speaking out against the injustice on tracks like Bring ‘Em Back.” Third, we have another trill video from St Pete rapper Freddy Roo on an 808 Mafia-produced banger called “You Don’t Know.” Babies all in the video! Last but not least, we’ve got the 2015 Summer collection from Tampa chillwear brand, Purple Wing. They invited us to the shoot and we had a great time. Now that you’re familiar with the background on the top features from July, drop down bottom and catch the vibe:
