I grew up around my father who taught me a lot about a lot about cars. He always used to show me the seams between the body panels of different cars. Design and craftsmanship is huge for him, and he always alluded to the likes of BMW and Mercedes, and of course Ferrari and Lamborghini for having perfectly fitted body panels. The small gap of space between panels are always even from one end to another of each panel….if that makes any sense to you non-car folks. Ultimately, it made the car look nice, neat and clean and official as hell.

Fast forward 2 decades and BMW is back at it again with the official as hellness. We present to you, the 2002 Hommage concept. The word concept usually infuriates me, because by the time the production version of the concept hits the street, it’s completely watered down. In this case, it will probably come in the form of and M2, which should only leave BMW with the job of creating models for the numbers 9 through infinity. For the record, the M@ will probably be a proper car, as pretty much all BMW’s are, Thankfully BMW’s 2002 Hommage concept is so wicked, when it never sees the light of day, it will still give me a warm fuzzy feeling inside.  All photos were taken at Villa d’Este in Lake Como, Italy.
